It has been confirmed today that 50 Cent will produce a documentary for Netflix about Diddy’s abuse allegations.
Back in May, 50 first revealed that Netflix had won a bidding war for the documentary, produced by 50 “Curtis Jackson” Cent’s G-Unit film and production studio.
“Well guys, we’re all about making great TV landmines that happen to be the best!” he wrote in part alongside an image of his and Diddy’s split. “NETFLIX won the bidding war, but if more victims continue to show up… I’m going to need more episodes,” he said at the time.
Alexandria Stapleton is directing the project, which is currently in production.
“This is a story with profound human consequences. It’s a complex narrative that spans decades, and it’s not just the headlines or clips we’ve seen so far,” 50 Cent and Stapleton said in an exclusive statement to Variety express. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to giving the voiceless a voice and presenting authentic and nuanced perspectives. While these allegations are disturbing, we urge everyone to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the story of hip-hop and The full story of its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the wider contribution of the culture.
50 also stated that proceeds from the documentary will be used to support victims of sexual assault.
Didi was arrested in New York last week and charged with three counts: racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty but remains in custody as he was refused bail at an appeal hearing.
