Lato has broken her silence on the incident earlier this month, when she claimed hackers took over her Twitter and tweeted disrespectful comments about Nicki Minaj.
Lato recently appeared on WNBA star Angel Reese’s podcast “Unapologically Angel,” where he was joined by singer Mariah Scientist and shared a humorous yet infuriating account of the developments.
“I knew my Twitter was hacked, but I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, why didn’t they tweet about it?'” Lato explained.
The “Big Mama” rapper recounted how she first noticed something strange when she tried to post to Snapchat during a workout, only to find her service was down.
“I was at the gym trying to post my little elliptical, but it wasn’t uploading,” she said. “I opened my email and it said: ‘Thank you for your permission [someone else],’ This will grant this account permission to DM and tweet everything. So I was like, ‘What is that?’ And then I was like, ‘Oh, my phone show went dead earlier.
Lato said realizing something was wrong, she approached her sister Brooke and asked her to explain what was going on, as she considered herself “grandma” when it came to technology. It was then that they both realized her account had been compromised and the alleged fraud began.
“she is [Brooke] Like, ‘Wait, listen, your SIM card might have been hacked,'” she said. “My SIM card got hacked. How are you all doing? What’s going on? How did this happen? And then they got the tweets about the shouting. I thought, ‘Now they’re really going to Believe this.
Eventually, Lato had to buy a brand new phone to fix the problem, which she found both stressful and surprising. “I had to buy myself a new phone, but now Verizon is with me,” she said, expressing gratitude for the help she received in solving the hacking problem.

While the incident has caused stress for Lato, her fans are abuzz as the strange tweets have many questioning what’s going on behind the scenes. In addition to the “What’s up n###a” tweet, which didn’t appear to have any additional context, some of the comments shared were direct attacks on Nicki Minaj, with whom Lato has been feuding for years. In the most significant comments on Twitter, the mysterious hacker who may have taken control of her account took aim at Minaj over her relationship with Cardi B and her husband Kenneth Petty Sexual assault cases continue to have rap conflicts.
“Nikki is acting like I won’t spank her bare ass,” Lato’s tweet read in part. “Kady had her on the run, sex-criminal husband, cash, rags, child p####### mute speech, looks like a wisdom tooth, empty jazz crowd, fake New York accent.”
In another expletive-laden tweet, the alleged hacker took another personal attack on Nicki Minaj: “F##k Nicki Minaj the fat###h.”
