At this point, there really isn’t much to say about the Alchemist’s career. The California producer and rapper has become one of the most influential beatmakers of this generation. He has always had a secret weapon that many others have tried to recreate at a similar level. Yet, even decades later, Uncle Al still stands out. Big Sean, A$AP Rocky and J. Cole, Big Hit and Hit-Boy, Oh No and Gangrene are just a few names to list. Sadly, we weren’t able to include Eminem because fans were led astray after Al’s cameo appeared in the The Mourner extended trailer.
We’ll continue to pray that this happens, but now, we have another new tape to discuss. In The Genuine Articulate, the alchemist puts himself in the spotlight. This was just one of the few times he served up bars in every cut. In this case, it’s for a 22:30 long, eight-song stripped-down tape. The title track of this album is “Ferraris in The Rain”, starring ScHoolboy Q. Action Bronson, Big Body Bes, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Conway the Machine and Larry Lune can also be heard.
