Diddy accuser April Lampros filed an objection to his motion to dismiss the lawsuit and proposed adding more allegations to her complaint on Monday (September 2). According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Lampros’ attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, requested permission to “add new facts” and withdraw emotional distress-related claims against Sony Music and other companies.
“Plaintiffs currently seek permission from the court to amend their complaint to withdraw claims of negligent emotional distress against the corporate defendants and to add additional facts to correct the problems in the complaint identified by the defendants in their respective motions to dismiss,” Blackburn wrote road.
In May of this year, Lampros sued Diddy on charges of sexual assault, battery, infliction of emotional distress and gender-based violence. Lampros accused Diddy (real name Sean Combs) of sexually assaulting her on at least four occasions.
Diddy’s legal team attacked the credibility of Lampros’ attorneys in a motion to dismiss. They claim Blackburn improperly filed the case to gain media attention and pressured the defendants to reach out-of-court settlements.
Blackburn defended himself in response to the motion. He said Diddy’s legal team had a “sick obsession” with him that ranged from “flattery to disturbing.”
“[Combs and Bad Boy Records’] Blackburn wrote that the attorneys attached a sentence to their own opinion in an unrelated case in an attempt to classify the plaintiffs’ defenses as “slutty” or baseless for the sole purpose of forcing the defendants to “settle.” “First, Plaintiff never asked Defendants SC and BBR to enter into a settlement. Plaintiff intends to hold SC and BBR accountable for their actions before a jury of their peers.
He continued, “Secondly, although the writer chose his clients, he did not choose their facts. If SC had not engaged in criminal obscenity, then the author of this article would not have submitted anything obscene. SC’s attorneys should spend Time teaches him lessons he clearly missed in childhood: 1. No means no, 2. A man should never put his hands (or feet) on a woman.
Blackburn also represents producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who sued Diddy in February. Lampros and Jones were two of multiple people who filed sexual assault lawsuits against Diddy last year.
Diddy settled one of the civil cases in November 2023.
