Atlanta rapper Lil Baby finds himself at the center of a social media storm after photos of him were released today after he was arrested for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon without a permit in Las Vegas.

The incident occurred late Monday night at a club and the musician, whose real name is Dominic Jones, was reportedly seen on video holding a gun.

Authorities took the 29-year-old artist into custody, resulting in him being held at the Clark County Detention Center.

Despite the accusations, the rap star’s legal representatives Drew Findlin and David Chesnoff were quick to issue statements defending their client’s actions.

“To be clear, Dominic Jones has a valid Georgia permit to carry a concealed weapon (CCW),” they revealed via TMZ.

Attorneys cited their aggressive efforts to investigate the events leading up to Jones’ arrest.

After spending time in custody, Lil Baby was released without formal charges but is scheduled to appear in a Las Vegas court on October 1.

His arrest attracted considerable attention, in part because a photo circulated at lightning speed on social media.

Many commenters criticized Lil Baby’s appearance in the photo, saying he looked unkempt or like a “junkie.”
