YG has joined the cast of horror film Goons , which is set to begin production in New Orleans.
The film will star such notable actors as P-Valley’s J. Alphonse Nicholson, Serayah McNeill of “Empire” fame, Bel-Air’s SteVonté Hart and Harlem’s Tyler Lepley.
YG is no stranger to the silver screen, having appeared in “White Boy Rick” and “Cut Throat City.”
He joins “Goons” to breathe fresh life into the film, as he takes on his latest acting challenge in bizarre Louisiana locations, including sugar cane fields and a historic plantation designed to bring in the cold.
Director Gerard McMurray, who co-wrote the script, returned to Louisiana to bring a fresh look at the horror landscape under producer Tommy Oliver.
“We’re making something special with YG, J. Alphonse, Serayah, SteVonté and Tyler,” McMurray said. “Their unique flavors bring this spooky recipe to life, and I can’t wait for the world to see it come to life in my hometown of New Orleans.”
While specific plot details remain under wraps, the Louisiana setting suggests a rich background intertwined with American history and folklore.
Goons is expected to tap into the cultural fabric of New Orleans to amplify its horror elements.
