Social Media Users Go Wild Over Lil Jon’s Surprise Performance at 2024 DNC
Lil Jon shows up to support 2024 presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris during the second night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Tuesday (August 22) . The Cronk King represented his home state of Georgia at a celebratory roll call as the states officially named Harris their Democratic presidential nominee.
The surprise show, which featured politically driven versions of Lil Jon classics “Turn Down for What” and “Get Low,” not only ignited the Democrats in attendance but also caused a stir on X (formerly Twitter) .
“I truly believe Georgia is the greatest in the history of any Democratic or Republican convention roll call,” one political enthusiast wrote on Twitter. “@LilJon crushed it!!!”
Others were quick to point out that Lil Jon slightly altered the lyrics to “Get Low” to bring attention to Vice President Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. “#1 Lil Jon yelled ‘TO THE WALZ’ at the Democratic convention. Ranking things I never thought I’d see. I love this timeline,” one X user chimed in.
Some social media users took the opportunity to use Lil Jon’s performance to mock Kamala Harris’ Republican opponent in the election, former President Trump.
“Lil Jon’s appearance definitely blew up Trump’s sandwich cake,” one Democrat stressed. “Lil Jon was on The Apprentice and I know Trump considers him a supporter. Love the way he rapped at the DNC the way he did. *L* ‘F’ Trump!”
