Now that most of us have finally gotten through Drake’s massive 100GB content dump, there’s nearly 100 minutes of new music for you to enjoy.
This week’s New Music Friday features some other blog-era favorites, with Big Sean forming a strong new partnership with Alchemist and rapper Chance reuniting with old friend, Lupe Fias Coe re-formed his near-mythical superband of child resistance.
Hip-hop’s new generation is also very active, with fresh releases from groups like Cash Cobain, Coi Leray and Doechii, while Mary J. Blige and Fabolous are bringing new music to the older crowd.

Big Sean and The Alchemist – “Together Forever”

After first collaborating last year on Larry June’s “Palisades, CA,” Big Sean and The Alchemist continue to flex their muscles on this smooth new single from the Detroit rapper’s upcoming album, Better Me Than You chemical reaction. Stick to the end, there will be hidden surprises.

Chance The Rapper and Save Money alum Joey Purp performed a new song from Chano’s long-awaited Star Line alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, performing a rendition of the Buddy Police hit. Just don’t call it an “album.”

Back in the day, when songs like The Game’s “One Blood” required a million MCs to remix, New York’s hottest new stars assembled an Avengers-caliber cast for this much-derided (and informative) clip. It would be nice if that number came down early in the summer.
Lupe Fiasco (Child Rebels)—“Shrink”

Lupe Fiasco has made good on his promise to “reboot” his Kid Rebels supergroup with Kanye West and Pharrell, albeit with a major twist. Bad news: There is no Ye or P. (“Shrink” samples the band’s Kid A classic “Optimistic.”)
Coi Leray — “Not in the store”

Coi Leray took a page out of 50 Cent’s “window shopper” playbook, showing off her wardrobe and purse to Pharrell’s Jersey Club-style beats. “Not in the Store” benefits from Skateboard P’s partnership with arts and entertainment company Doodles, which will produce an NFT animated film called “Dullsville and The Doodleverse” (Coi voices the film alongside Lil Wayne).
Tory Lanez – “Featherweight” + “F&V”

It’s no secret that Kodak Black is a huge Trump fan, but now Fivioforeign has become the latest MAGA rapper. “I was on tour when Trump called me/That’s my win, that’s your loss,” he raps. The song even begins with audio from the former president’s 2017 inauguration. Politics aside, this pace is tough.
Reylo Rodriguez — “85 Cutlass”

Another star of 4PF cruises through the highs and lows of the rap star lifestyle in a soulful and powerful production. For some reason, the accompanying video shows a Lamborghini Urus, but not the actual 85 Cutlass.

London meets Atlanta on this new song from the British house/dubstep producer. However, “flex fm (freddit)” is more MDMA-driven than Magic City.
