Fat Joe, DJ Premier, Kid Capri and many others from the hip-hop community are mourning the passing of famous MOP affiliate Foxx.
Kid Capri revealed the news of Foxx’s passing in a heartfelt post on Instagram over the weekend.
“About a week ago, I went to visit you in the hospital last night and what I saw made me walk out of the room crying,” the veteran DJ wrote. “You asked people to come see you before August 2nd when you wanted to take off the respirator, and yesterday was August 2nd and if I hadn’t been there I would have regretted it so much because you were gone today.
“You held on last night after they took you off the machine. It’s hard to leave you in the hospital room and go home because I know I’ll never see you again, but my memory of you will always be there. , we grew up one block apart from Kingsbridge Terrace and Sedgwick Avenue, the home of hip-hop!
Capri then shared some memories of working with Foxx and her contribution to MOP: “I remember when I started my girl group, Sly, Sleek, Wicked, and then we added a girl named lethal, who was You, I had the pleasure of having you, Kim, Georgia, and @qtpepsi rehearse the routine I was writing, and after that, you were really affected by the music.
“[T]A few years later you connected with this great hip hop group MOP @famem.op @billydanzem.op I have so much love and respect for them not only because of how awesome they are but because they take you around the world you can See things you’ve never seen before.
“You appear on records and videos, you have the opportunity to know what makes people happy that you don’t even know, the opportunity to do things that no one else has done, you always have an incredible personality, and we all do Miss you so much, you get your work done and we get the rest! God bless you and your family! Love you forever, Salissa!
Foxx, who has sung on several MOP songs and previously served as the band’s tour manager, suffered serious health issues after being diagnosed with the autoimmune disease scleroderma about 15 years ago.

DJ Premier also shared a lengthy tribute to Foxx and played a throwback video of her rapping on a tour bus with Gang Starr.
“I was hurt in many ways, but your pain is gone now,” he said. “Even though I saw you at the hospital on Tuesday, it still sucked to get that phone call. We will all miss you dearly, but the fun times will be etched in our souls. You were hardcore and sweet at the same time. Gonna screw up Anyone who faces us or you. Fat Joe also expressed his condolences, commenting on Capri’s post: “No she’s family God bless me so sorry,” while Alchemist added: “Man. She was the sickest.
