Snoop Dogg couldn’t have found a better swimming coach to improve his pool skills than Michael Phelps.
The West Coast rap icon has teamed up with the 23-time Olympian to achieve a “lifetime goal” during the Paris 2024 Games. In a segment aired on NBC Sports, Snoop Dogg told Michael Phelps that he has the perfect physique for the sport.
“You just described me!” Snoop responded as Phelps described the elements needed to hit the ball quickly. “Wingspan, lung capacity – I do have great lung capacity – and I do have a swimmer’s body,” he added, standing next to the champion. “We’re physically similar, Mike; we could be twins.
Snoop Dogg, too cool for goggles, turned down Phelps’ offer with a resounding “Oh no,” then showed off his freestyle moves.
“Swimming is hard, isn’t it?” Phelps said, and Snoopy agreed. The two tried synchronized swimming, and the Death Row Records boss told Phelps, “You make it look too easy.” Snoop said he was “in gold shape,” then jokingly asked for oxygen.
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg added his unique commentary as he shared highlights from his first week as NBC’s Olympics correspondent. “As you can see, the game doesn’t stop until the coffin drops,” Snoop said while reacting to the exciting badminton match between the United States and China.
In addition to hosting the Olympics, Snoop Dogg proudly carried the Olympic flame during its final stop in Paris.
