Druski plans to bring the worlds of music and comedy together through his Coulda Fest concert, and he’s already invited some heavyweights, including 21 Savage and Soulja Boy.
The comedian said Wednesday (July 24) that he will perform the show, named after the Coulda Been Records spoof imprint that angered Birdman, on Sept. 7 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.
Big names in comedy include DC Young Fly and Kai Cenat. Other musicians and groups include Waka Flocka Flame, Young Dro and Travis Porter.
Check out the video announcement below.
Tickets for the show are on sale now. You can find them here. So far, as-yet-unnamed “special guests” have also been promised.
While Druski didn’t explain why he invited rappers in addition to comics, it could be because he recently admitted that he prefers spending time with rappers rather than other comedians. The viral sensation shows the rapper is making him feel more like a “real” person.
In April, Druski sat down with XXL to talk about his career trajectory, and here’s where he revealed it.
“I’m a real person, man. I don’t know. I’m more comfortable around [rap] There are more artists than comedians around me,” he said. “I don’t know if it’s because it’s a competition with comedians and I don’t feel that way when I’m with artists.”
He continued, “I do feel like I’ve developed more friendships with a lot of the bigger artists and this community. It’s just a natural thing. I think Coulda Been Records is also one of the things that they find so interesting that they Always want to talk to the CEO.
That comfort from the rappers apparently also extends to the rappers’ descendants, including King Harris — the son of T.I. and Tameka “Tiny” Harris — who recently spoke with the Coulda Been Records founder at the Huncho Day Celebrity Football Game in Quavo There was an argument.
Last spring, a video of the two laughing and joking on the field before a game seemed to make it clear there was no longer any bad blood between them.
While the two didn’t talk about putting their past behind them, they both seemed in good spirits when talking to each other.
