Earlier today, Jayda Cheaves took to Instagram to release a new promotional video for her latest line of Waydamin swimwear. Unfortunately, however, it was not well received. The video shows Cheeves lying on his stomach on the beach, taking off his swimsuit top. Eventually two little boys came and stole the top and she ran into the ocean wearing only a pair of swimming trunks.
The video confused reviewers and criticized Chefs for featuring children in the risqué ad. “Don’t bare your butt with kids,” one Instagram user wrote. “You don’t have to be a genius to know that this is going to be poorly received, because why are you naked and your son is in this video? Like what makes you think this is going to be okay?” Another wonder.
Jada Cheves defends herself amid criticism
Cheeves clarified things in her comments section, stressing that the kids didn’t do any actual nudity on set. “I am the brand…and the kids were clearly not on set after we shot their scenes,” she wrote. “Why use someone else’s child when none of this is literal and my son lives in front of the camera. It was right to include him in it.”
In another comment, Cheves insisted she meant no harm and was simply trying to send an inspiring message to other women. “I just wanted people who commented to know that there was nothing weird or bad about the video we performed, it was just to leave a comment and promote my latest product,” she explained. “This inspires every woman to feel beautiful, fearless and accepted no matter what the situation.” What do you think of Jayda Cheaves’ new promotional video? How did she react to the backlash she received for being with a half-naked child? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below and follow HNHH for more updates.
