Big Sean has enemies. His upcoming album was leaked online by a user claiming to be following Kanye West’s orders. This is the most dubious and unsubstantiated claim one could make, but regardless of its credibility, it stems from the fact that Shawn and West are out. The two rappers had a falling out after working together for more than a decade. During a recent freestyle session, Big Sean took a subliminal shot at someone believed to be West. He appears to be doing the same thing with his latest single “Yes.”
To be clear, Sean Down did not mention any rappers by name. He keeps it vague so his standards can apply to anyone and everyone. That being said, the specificity of the insults made it seem like he was targeting someone in particular. In the second verse of “Yes,” Big Sean addresses a man he knew long ago. Apparently, someone has been badmouthing the rapper. “Stupid little bastard trying to remember something from long ago,” he spat. “Niggas really think they’re cruel because they’re always talking shit. Show how you feel and give these niggas the middle finger.”

Big Sean ends the verse by claiming that his enemies will not change him. No matter what people do to him or say about him in public, he vows to remain as positive as ever. “They wanted to see me turn into a villain,” he added. “I’m going to kill them no matter what.” If these criticisms are indeed directed at Kanye West, they do apply to him. West was the one who put Big Sean on more than a decade ago. Infamously, he went from a beloved figure in hip-hop to a villain in pop culture.
There is also a bar about “gushing”. When Kanye West appeared on a 2021 episode of Drink Champs, his relationship with Big Sean was completely ruined. The Chicago artist claims that signing Big Sean to GOOD Music was the “worst thing” he’s ever done. He lamented helping the rapper and worried aloud that Sean’s career would be etched on his tombstone. Sean was understandably upset by the comments, considering the close relationship he and West had over the years. There may be more subs on Sean’s new album. what do you think?
