Ahead of the release of his new album, Big Sean has previewed an unreleased collaboration with his former label boss Kanye West.
The Detroit rapper took to Instagram Live on Monday (July 15) to treat fans to some never-before-heard songs, including a Kanye-produced track reportedly titled “Fighting Fires.”
Sean said the song might appear on Ye’s long-delayed Vultures 2 album with Ty Dolla $ign.
In the clip, the 36-year-old can be heard rapping: “We bitches, focus on the back, right? / Fuck overnight fame, I want it for life / I’m policing what I see , fuck the oversight / From the other side of the screen like a prankster / I’m dropping gems in this bitch like I’m off the ice / They gotta name their son Sean ’cause this boy is so Smart, right?

Sean also hinted that new music would be released this week after being asked by fans when it would be released.
The “Bounce Back” MC also discussed the challenges of making a new album, staying away from his one-year-old son, who is currently touring with girlfriend Jhené Aiko, and staying sober.
“I had a rough fucking time, oh my God, I’m not going to lie,” he said. “In this bitch [the studio] I’m kind of tired of overthinking trying to finish this album. BTW, I’ve been struggling to stay sane, so a n-gga here being raw with his emotions, bro.
“There’s no excuse either. I quit drinking in 2022 because that stuff just fucked me up. Mentally damn alcohol is a form of depression, so if you’re like me and deal with any anxiety – I always I’m thinking about what I’m going to do, how I’m going to do it, what I’m going to do next, etc.
He added: “You know what I love about this album? There are so many different sides to me. It’s multifaceted, just like me. I meditate every morning, but I also have tapes in the studio —Not the belt; but the belt. I kept the gun. [This album] This really represents what I’ve been going through the past few years.
Sean also said that his upcoming project represents his “best music” and that while it has “some good traits,” it will be more of a solo effort than his past work.
The fact that Big Sean is back working with Kanye West is a major departure after their public feud in 2021.
West told “Drink Champs” that signing Sean to GOOD Music was the “worst” thing he’s ever done.
“Let me tell you. I’ve decided that when I die, my tombstone will say, ‘I deserve to be here because I signed Big Sean,'” he said.
“I knew this guy’s mom. I made a difference in this guy’s family. When I ran for office, both John Legend and Big Sean were quickly used by the Democrats to attack their boys and it literally changed their lives, This is some sell out shit. I’m not interested in either of them and I need an apology from them.
Sean responded by saying that Ye owes him millions of dollars, adding: “I love Kanye, man. I love him for giving me a chance and all that. But I feel like everything he says is bullshit shit.
