Pop Smoak’s murder trial has been delayed after one of the accused killers was reportedly unable to agree to a plea deal.

Rolling Stone reported on Friday (June 21) that Pop Smoke’s killer Corey Walker will receive a new trial date after plea deal talks collapsed. Jury selection was originally scheduled to begin this week but will begin on August 6 if a plea deal cannot be reached.
“Negotiations have failed. But there is still a possibility that we can reach a deal,” Walker’s lawyer Dionne Benjamin told RS. “There are things that need to be resolved. If the issues are not resolved, we will go to trial.”
Walker is the only person still facing legal consequences after Pop Smoke was murdered in a Hollywood Hills home four years ago. A 15-year-old man previously admitted being the perpetrator of a burglary in February 2020.
Additionally, there are rumors that Smoker’s other killer, King Vermont Ruskel, was also released this week after serving four years in juvenile prison. This has not been confirmed.

In a 2022 interview with We TV’s “Hip-Hop Homicide,” Rose said she remembered that the men broke in and murdered Pop while he was going to the bathroom.
“Dad said he was going upstairs,” Ross said. “I sat on the bed and started taking my clothes off and he said, ‘Okay, I’ll be back,'” she recalled. “He was going to the bathroom, so those were his last words.”
She said one of the killers even pointed a gun at her face. “At this moment, maybe a few seconds later, I heard a noise. The guy had a mask on and his gun was like… ‘Look at me,’ you know? His eyes scared me. They ran to the bathroom. .
Pop Smoke was only 20 years old when he passed away.
