Reason has recently shown no hesitation in expressing his displeasure with Top Dawg Entertainment, and he has now parted ways with the label.

In a statement shared on his social media profiles on Tuesday (June 18), the Californian announced that he would no longer be releasing music through the label.

“The past seven years have been incredible and I am grateful for all the time and experiences I have had during this time,” he wrote. “I can’t even put into words the surreal feeling of being able to share my thoughts, expressions, emotions, stories and experiences with everyone through the platform that TOP DAWG ENTERTAINMENT has provided me.

“With that being said, it is with great gratitude and excitement that I announce my separation from TDE. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to myself for not only giving me the opportunity to realize my dream, but for listening to me and understanding me throughout the years. The decision to take a different path. My respect for you is beyond words and no matter what happens, that will never change.

He continued, “I would also like to thank every single TDE fan who embraced me and allowed me to share my music with them. There is not a single world that is not most important to me. Last but not least, THANK YOU All the artists that embrace me.

“Thank you for your continued inspiration and listening ear as I try to navigate this industry and music. Thank you all for your time and thank you so much for this experience. Excited for what comes next!

Reason’s issues with TDE have been brewing for some time, with him recently claiming that no one from the label attended his album listening party last year.

“I had a release party and no one from the label showed up,” he said on the Rory & Mal podcast shortly after Porches was released. “Ray Vaughan showed up – shout out to Ray Vaughn. I thought, you know, maybe the n-ggas gave me some space.

Earlier that month, the Carson rapper feuded with the label’s co-president Moussa during an interview with BACKONFIGG in which he expressed his displeasure with the aforementioned album’s launch.

“We’ve got a list of certain features that are passable,” he vented. “We have the budget, we have the functionality[s] Queuing – takes a long time to complete, features eventually go up in price or something disappears. Content ideas are lined up but not executed. The ideas for launch are lined up but not yet executed.

“It’s something different. I had Lato lined up to do something – but not executed. I had EST Gee lined up – but not executed. Like, we didn’t stick to it. Features lined up, We settled on a price, a video and lyrics for Love – it took too long.

He added: “I’m going to talk specifically about the EST Gee thing – it took too long to communicate with EST Gee and his staff and say, ‘Yo, this is what we want to do.'” When we finally spoke to him When he got in touch and reached out, he released a record with Future that went crazy. Now, that feature costs $25,000 more than the original price.
