Action Bronson knows how to have fun. Each new single and album is laced with the rapper’s signature sense of humor. A sense of humor typified by obscure movie references, old-school sports references, and a bunch of culinary references that fans will have a hard time understanding. Bronson’s poetry is an adventure, and Sega is a perfect example. The single from the rapper’s upcoming album Dr. John Sebastian Baklava is short, moody, and very listenable.

The most striking aspect of “Sega” is the musical instruments. One might have assumed from the title that Bronson would be spitting out a glitchy beat inspired by video games, but Sega opted for a moody vibe with an old-school organ. The organ is the most prominent sound here, making the entire track sound like Action Bronson rapping in a haunted house from Scooby-Doo. The bar is equally quirky. There are references to wrestler Kurt Engel, Silver Bullet and trumpet player Miles Davis. It’s random fun, and the rapper’s undeniable charisma gives each verse its shape. “Sega” lacks the punch of the album’s first single, “Nourish a Thug,” but it’s another satisfying taste of what’s to come.

Let us know what you think of this brand new track in the comments section below. Also, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from the music industry. We will continue to update you on all your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Action Bronson stays in his lyrical abstraction bag

under cranberry club
We escaped under the tunnel
Damn it, I waved that big piece of wood
Yeah, I’m doing numbers here, b*tch
I spent 14 summers here
