Despite the delay, the rescheduled fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is still scheduled to premiere on Netflix on June 7, 2024. Many people expressed their opinions on the upcoming game. UFC’s Dana White weighed in on Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant podcast. When Schultz confronted Dana about the fight on the show, the UFC president immediately called it “ridiculous.” He is one of many who have expressed concerns about the match because of the age gap.
“Tyson was 58 years old when this fight happened. Under no circumstances should a man who is almost 60 years old be fighting a 27-year-old man… It’s ridiculous,” he said. White went on to say that he was against the fight because he was worried about Tyson’s health as he approached sixty. “Jake Paul is 27 years old and he’s in his prime… I love Mike. No one wants to see Mike get beat by this damn bastard,” Dana White said.
Dana White thinks Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight is ridiculous
Dana White has also commented on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight before. White clarified in March that the age difference was the reason the fight was not “serious.” Still, there are certain benefits to facing a famous boxer like Mike Tyson. Bai said: “He doesn’t [want to be taken seriously]. What Jack wants is Jack wants to make money. People who follow Jake Paul don’t buy Jake Paul’s fights, so Jake Paul has to fight the guys who can actually sell pay-per-views.
When Paul’s fight with Tyson was rescheduled due to the famous boxer’s health issues, many others tried to steal Tyson’s spot. That includes Tyson’s past opponent Roy Jones Jr. He said he would make sure to be ready to fight if given the chance. Tyson may be in serious danger simply because of his age. No matter what you think of these YouTube/content creator boxing matches, they’re still a fight. Overall, Dana White could be onto something. Let’s hope, if the fight goes well, Iron Mike’s health remains up in the air.
