50 Cent visits Capitol Hill to advocate for Black representation in the alcohol industry.

50 Cent wants to increase opportunities for black owners in liquor industry

On Wednesday (June 5), 50 Cent marched into Washington, D.C., to meet with members of Congress. The multi-talented hip-hop mogul, along with prominent civil rights attorney Ben Crump, is pushing to increase opportunities for black ownership in the spirits industry, which reportedly generates billions of dollars in annual revenue.

The 50-year-old, who owns Sire Spirits, which produces and distributes brands such as Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne, is fighting on behalf of black entrepreneurs who he believes are underperforming in terms of the amount of wealth they can achieve. America is underrepresented through the sale of alcohol.

“I go and talk to them about economic opportunity for everyone,” 50 Cent said during a conversation on Capitol Hill in the video below. “The response I’m getting is really exciting. It makes me feel like we have bright things ahead of us.”

After his trip to Capitol Hill, 50 Cent posted photos on Instagram posing with a number of lawmakers and politicians, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, California Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Georgia Rep. Nekima ·Williams et al.

50 Cent visits Congress over legal dispute with Sire Spirits parent company

The G-Unit boss’s advocacy for black representation in the alcohol industry comes as Fif is engaged in an ongoing legal battle with Sire Spirits parent company Beam Suntory. According to Fox 5, 50 Cent filed a lengthy complaint with the New York State Supreme Court accusing Beam Suntory of embezzling millions of dollars from Sire Spirits.

As he prepared to visit Congress earlier this week, 50 people clicked on his infamous Instagram account to denounce Beam Suntory and its alleged unfair business practices.

“I’m going to Washington to talk to the Congressional Black Caucus about how @suntoryglobalsprits are hurting my business,” 50 Cent wrote in a screenshot of TMZ’s report on the matter.

Beam Suntory denies 50’s accusations.
