Eminem has had an incredible career in rap, but these amazing career achievements show that Slim Shady is truly the GOAT Slim Shady.

As Em continues to roll out his upcoming album The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce), it’s worth noting that Marshall Mathers, despite not releasing an album since 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By Still continuing to break records. In 2021, Eminem broke his own record by becoming the most played album on Spotify, with 11 of his solo albums being streamed over 1 billion times. It’s worth noting that these are just streaming and sales records, but Emme has broken countless world records during his reign as one of rap’s most celebrated artists. As fans feverishly await new music, XXL has compiled a list of eight of the craziest records Em has broken.

Eminem’s “Rap God” sets record for most words in a hit single

Back in 2013, Guinness World Records recognized Eminem’s “Rap God” as the hit single with the most single words of all time. The fire-breathing song, which appears on Em’s album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, contains 1,560 words in just 6 minutes and 4 seconds, averaging about 4.28 words per second. In one notable 15-second clip, Em fired off 97 words, a rate of 6.46 words per second.

Best-selling albums of the first half of the 21st century

In the first decade of the 21st century, Eminem became the artist with the highest-selling albums in the first half of the 21st century. Em’s total sales reached 32.2 million, surpassing the Beatles’ 30.1 million. Eminem is followed by other equally famous musicians, including Linkin Park, pop star Britney Spears and legendary country singers Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and the late Toby Key. think. To this day, Eminem’s only two albums that have not charted at the top of the charts are his 1999 album The Slim Shady LP (which ranked second) and his 1996 debut independent album Infinite (which did not chart at all ).

Eminem becomes artist with most certified singles in RIAA history

On March 8, 2022, Slim Shady became the artist with the most certified singles in RIAA history. Eminem has received six RIAA Diamond certifications, including for “The Marshall Mathers LP,” “The Eminem Show” and “Curtain Call,” as well as for the songs “Lose Yourself” and “Love the Way You Lie” and “Not Afraid,” cementing his status as one of the record’s greatest. His RIAA career award total now stands at 227.5 million, including 166 million single certifications and 61.5 million album certifications.

Recording artist’s largest vocabulary

According to 2015 research by Musixmatch, Eminem is recognized by Guinness World Records as the recording artist with the largest vocabulary. Throughout his career, Eminem used 8,818 unique words. Jay-Z trails behind with 6,899 words, followed by 2Pac with 6,569 words. Ye is comfortably fifth with 5,069 points.

While this may surprise no one, Eminem is also considered the fastest rapper of all time following the release of Godzilla in 2020 and Rap God in 2013. Single words, Guinness World Records notes that his 2020 single “Godzilla” squeezed 225 words into a 30-second clip.
