His inflatable venue was a success at last year’s Humor and Harmony Festival, a commitment to the permanent G-Dome in downtown Shreveport, a major step in his G-Unit expansion program in Louisiana.
Staff have begun preparing for the new structure, which will replace the temporary dome used during the August 2024 event.
The development was a key theme during the meeting of the Cardo Diocese Economic Development Commission on Monday (August 18), and officials reviewed the site’s long-term economic potential.
The committee highlighted the role of G-Dome in revitalizing downtown Shreveport and promoting local hospitality and entertainment.
Although financial details remain confidential due to non-disclosure of the agreement, Hall confirmed that public-private partnerships are part of the funding strategy.
50 Cent says G-Dome will be larger than temporary structure
The permanent G-Dome is expected to be bigger and become a destination for entertainment, tourism and community events throughout the year.
“Don’t worry, the permanent G-Dome will be built soon, and now I know we’re just big enough. Let’s get started!” 50 cents wrote after the first festival.
G-Dome is just part of a broader plan for 50 Cent to invest in Shreveport.
His Humor and Harmony Festival, held from August 8 to August 11, 2024, brings together hip-hop shows, comedy shows, celebrity basketball games and family-friendly attractions such as 50 Fit Park.
The event spans multiple venues, including the temporary G-Dome and Shreveport municipal auditorium.
The festival also achieves charitable purposes, supporting the G-Unity Foundation’s mission to enhance underserved youth and promote economic growth in neglected communities.
Despite Shreveport’s battle with crime, there was nothing happening in the weekend of 2024, a view celebrated as what makes the festival a tradition of the year.
The permanent G-DOME is expected to be completed in phases, with construction already underway as of Monday (August 18).
Local officials confirmed the return of the 50 Cent festival of Humor and Harmony in Spring 2006.
