Dallas rapper Zeethewizard died at a local hospital after being seriously injured in a New Year’s Day shooting at the Pink House nightclub in Dallas on Monday.
The rapper was one of five people shot to death during the club’s grand opening around 4 a.m. Thursday.
The 25-year-old artist has built a promising career by turning to music after a sports injury ended his athletic dreams. Zeethewizard is an active member of New Dallas, a hip-hop collective that advocates for peace and unity in the city’s music community.
The collective’s mission to promote harmony stood in stark contrast to the violence that claimed Zeethewizard’s life at an event that was supposed to be a celebration.
BigXthaPlug attended the Dallas Pink House event and reacted emotionally to the shooting that injured his friend and fellow artist.
In addition to Zeethewizard, four other people were injured in the shooting, although police have not released information about a suspect or a potential motive behind the violence.
Dallas authorities are still investigating the incident that turned a New Year’s celebration into a tragedy for the local hip-hop community.
Dallas police are asking anyone with information about the Pink Room shooting to contact investigators to identify those responsible for the violence.
