YoungBoy Never Broke Again has pledged to cover the funeral costs of a Louisiana girl killed in an accidental shooting earlier this month.
On March 10, 10-year-old Kimani Thomas was accidentally shot by a young relative in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and later died from her injuries. According to local news station WBRZ, Thomas’ stepfather was working at the Sonic Drive-In on Government Street when the shooting occurred while her mother was off work. While waiting in the car, a young relative discovered a gun and accidentally shot Thomas while she was playing outside the car.
Thomas’ mother revealed in a social media post that YoungBoy Never Broke Again is offering to cover the costs of the little girl’s funeral.
“I know Baton Rouge loves to say all the bad things people do. But I want to be the first to say that to NBA YoungBoy and whoever might be on his team tonight,” Kimani’s mother recently shared on social media. “As I write this with tears in my eyes, my baby Kimani’s funeral expenses are officially paid for!”
According to Thomas’ mother, YoungBoy Never Broke Again is her daughter’s favorite rap artist.
“I know she’s jumping with her tail for joy!” Thomas’ mother added.
Thomas is scheduled to be laid to rest on March 28 in Baton Rouge.
XXL has reached out to the NBA YoungBoy team for comment.
