Young Thug’s trial took another twist after the state’s key witness said he had lied in some of his past statements.
In court on Monday (August 12), Kenneth Copeland, aka Lil Woody, fumed at prosecutors during his court appearance, saying he lied about “pretty much everything” in 2015. To avoid going to jail.
“Like I told you before you called me to stand trial, I lied,” he said. “I made things up. I told you before you brought me to this court and I tell you now. You asked me about my situation in 2015. You all want to put this on my conscience, you all Want to put human life in my hands.
He continued: “I don’t want to be here. Y’all put pressure on me and I’m tired of you because you all know you’re all wrong and you’re all black people doing this to us”
Copeland also denied that he is now trying to help Young Thug, adding that he “couldn’t care less about him,” Fox News reported.
The trial is currently underway.
#KennethCopeland made it clear he did not want to testify. Most of his answers were “I don’t remember.” He also explained that in 2015, he would have said anything, including accusing #YoungThug of murder, to stay out of trouble. #YSL #FultonCounty https://t.co/6PZ1qS4eSA pic.twitter.com/kPZTVg8OzC

Young Thug seems to be growing tired of the ongoing YSL RICO trial, which is now the longest in Georgia history.
As the trial enters its 107th day on Wednesday (August 7), in a viral post from the lawsuit, Thugger can be seen appearing to doze in his seat while his attorney, Brian Steel, speaks with Judge Paige Reese Whitaker talks.
The trial resumed on 30 July due to delays caused by the appointment of the new judge.
Amid numerous mishaps and delays, Sager and his legal team last month filed for a mistrial and bail requests, both of which were denied by the new judge.
Judge Ural Granville, who had overseen the trial since its inception, was fired on July 15 after meeting with prosecutors and Copeland without the knowledge of Thug and his legal team.
He was replaced by Judge Shakura Ingram, who later recused herself on July 17 because of her former court deputy’s romantic relationship with a co-defendant in the case. On the same day, Whitaker was appointed as the new judge.
