Young Thug insists Atlanta hip-hop is back after he was at the center of the city’s unrest last month.
Thugger shared a post on his Instagram Story on Tuesday (October 14), sharing his thoughts on the current situation in Area A.
“I woke up feeling good, Atlanta is back, man,” Sager said. “These things that we do, these things are just for this town. I’m happy that we’re back where the rap community should be. I don’t think we ever left, but, I think rap is declining right now. We as artists, we have to get back together. But, Atlanta is looking good right now. I’m happy to come from that place.”
Last week, Thug announced his Hometown Heroes benefit concert, which will take place on December 16 at State Farm Stadium in Atlanta. The concert will also feature special guests labeled “With Friends” on the flyer.
The concert will be Thug’s second major benefit show in his hometown since his release from prison last October, after he was recently in the spotlight among Atlanta rappers. In August, Thug became the subject of a whistleblower scandal that divided many in Atlanta’s hip-hop community.
Last month, things got sticky again for Thug when jailhouse phone calls were leaked and he was found gossiping about a number of his local rap peers. He has since apologized.
