After a dramatic day in court for Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, a Georgia judge jailed him for contempt of court.
Steele was arrested and detained on Monday (June 10) after refusing to reveal who informed him of a private meeting between the judge, prosecutors and key witness Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland.

Returning to court, Judge Ural Granville told Steele he would go to jail if he did not reveal his source.
“If you don’t tell me, you will be detained at five o’clock today or when we finish,” Glanville told Steele. Later in the hearing, following arguments from Steele’s attorney, Granville ordered Steele to spend 20 days in jail. He will serve his sentence on weekends starting on Friday, June 14.
Steele is appealing the decision. However, Granville agreed to his attorney’s request and, if his appeal fails, he will serve time with the young thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, in the Fulton County Jail.
“I requested that I could be with Mr. Williams and we worked on our case all weekend, all those weekends. Otherwise, I couldn’t have been prepared for the fact that I was talking to Mr. Williams all the time,” Steele argued.
“I support you,” Glanville replied. “I’ll talk to our sheriff and we might be able to do that.”
The attorney’s wife, Colette Resnik Steel, is appealing the contempt order. However, Glanville said her husband had no grounds to appeal or have a bail hearing. Still, the judge said he would lift the order if Steele was willing to reveal his sources.
