Young Bleed suffered a brain aneurysm and was rushed to intensive care just days after performing at Cash Money vs. No Limit Verzuz, a diagnosis his son’s mother has now confirmed.
The Baton Rouge rapper, best known for his 1998 hit “How Ya Do Dat,” experienced a medical emergency on Saturday, October 25.
Tameka Long, who has one child with the 52-year-old artist, confirmed that doctors diagnosed him with a brain aneurysm caused by internal bleeding, TMZ reported.
“He is still in intensive care and his mother is asking if you respect her wishes and not post anything about RIP,” Young Blade’s sister Tedra wrote on social media, responding to false reports of his death circulating online.
Long also revealed that the rapper has long battled high blood pressure and heart disease. She said his vital signs remained stable despite being on a ventilator and the family was hopeful of a full recovery.
Young Bleed, who sparked a medical scare shortly after taking the stage at ComplexCon, performed alongside other Southern rappers at a nostalgic Verzuz event celebrating the legacies of Cash Money and No Limit Records.
Master P, who signed Young Bleed to No Limit in the late ’90s, also acknowledged the rapper’s illness and asked for support.
