The title references Metro’s most iconic producer label
Like many famous hip-hop producers, Metro Boomin uses several different signature producer tags on his beats. While many of his tags are highly regarded by fans, Future’s rendition of the refrain “If young Metro doesn’t believe in you, I’ll shoot you” is widely regarded as his best. The vocal clip was first recorded during studio sessions with Future, Metro Boomin and Uncle Murda for the 2015 song “Right Now.”
The label has since been used on Metro Boomin’s signature outings for artists such as Drake, Kanye West and more. In Uncle Murda’s official “Right Now” Genius lyric notes, the Brooklyn rapper says “I’m not going to lie, I definitely had no idea this line was going to be as big as it is.” Young Metro did an interview to let people know The origin of the line is from ‘Now’. Now it’s on Kanye’s TLOP record and it’s on all these memes and it’s cool.”
4. The duo previewed the track on “Rolling Loud”
Future and Metro Boomin previewed several unreleased tracks from “We Don’t Trust You” during their March 17 headlining show at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles, California. Although the tracklist for the new album has yet to be released to the public, the duo treated fans to a live performance of songs such as “Cinderella,” “Type Sh*t” and “Like That.” The electrifying performance marked the most substantial behind-the-scenes look at the album to date, prompting fans to flock to the official Rolling Loud YouTube channel to relive the experience over and over again.
Future and Metro Boomin have yet to announce a tour for their new material, but the pair are expected to play concerts across the country following the release of “We Don’t Trust You” and the two-parter. If their nearly 90-minute Rolling Loud performance is any indication of what fans have come to expect from the pair, the concert is sure to sell out in record time.

3. Travis Scott and Playboi Carti will be featured
Although Metro Boomin previously claimed that “We Don’t Trust You” would not be promoting any features, the new track played by Rolling Loud tells a different story. Of the three new songs previewed during the live show, all three featured guest appearances from Travis Scott, while one, “Type Sh*t,” featured another from Playboi Carti Featured songs. Perhaps the second album in the double album will be completely featureless, though fans will certainly be happy to hear a little more cohesion between Future and his trap peers.
2. Album trailer interprets classics
The announcement trailer for We Don’t Believe You was first released on March 8, showing Future and Metro Boomin traveling across the desert to meet a suitcase. The slowly building momentum of the orchestral chords used in the trailer built a lot of anticipation, and the track by late Mobb Deep legend Prodigy expressed disdain for the musical landscape. Roc Marciano previously used this audio clip in the intro “Select Few” to his 2019 album Marcielago.
The trailer has a lot of cinematic value, hinting that a full-length music video from the location is coming soon. As Future and Metro Boomin demonstrated on their recent Rolling Loud series, the visual beauty of “We Don’t Trust You” attracted a lot of attention.
