A black woman was surprised after leaving a 2hollis concert in Seattle that several of her braids were missing.
TikTok user Swaz (@luvswaz) posted a video on September 29 containing her findings. According to her voice, Swaz recorded it the morning after the Chicago rapper’s performance. “My hair was literally ripped out,” she says at the beginning of the video. “I was in Seattle for a 2hollis concert. It was definitely a braid break. And then I saw this braid. Oh my god. I just woke up and you were all gone. This one is gone.”
Swartz wrote in the caption, “There were definitely some comments and attacks directed at my braid. I could feel people pulling on it (not in a crowd-squeezing way!), but I literally had to take my hair back from people’s hands and hold on tight.”
How viewers reacted to this woman’s experience at the 2hollis Seattle show
In the comments, viewers expressed sympathy and outrage over what happened to Swaz at the 2hollis concert. For the uninitiated, 2hollis refers to the alternative pop artist and relative of Skrillex. The 21-year-old singer is currently touring the United States to promote his latest studio album, Star.
“2hollis needs to say something about this,” one viewer wrote. “I often saw women getting hurt on his shows.”
“I love 2hollis but he needs to address the blatant aggression at concerts,” a second person wrote. “It’s OK to raves, it’s OK to party, but when people are attacked in the way I’ve seen them… it’s not OK. I’m sure he’s seen these types of videos. I’m sorry this happened to you.”
A third said, “People need to realize this isn’t just a 2hollis issue. It’s like every ‘underground’ artist has the same crowd because it’s full of 16-19 year old boys. Concert etiquette doesn’t exist in this audience.”
What happened to the 2hollis show?
In a Reddit thread posted to r/2hollis in late September, commenters discussed X posts by a woman who claimed she suffered broken ribs after being assaulted during a night performance at a show in Los Angeles.
“I broke my ribs at 2holls LA N1. Everyone going tonight, please be careful and keep your hair up,” the post read. “I was at the center barricade on Tuesday night, and I’m 5-foot-4 and 97 pounds, so I got thrown to the floor during ‘Two Bad,’ and they piled on me. Today I found out I had a broken rib. The other girl behind me broke her foot during ‘No Me Importa.'”
“That concert was [expletive]. I was in the middle, almost pushed to the front, crushed from the front and back,” one person wrote in a comment.
Another wrote: “I’m confused if it’s the unusually frequent bad scenes at 2hollis concerts or if this guy is coming out and talking about it.”
“This is happening to a lot of parasocial fandom,” someone else responded.
Five months ago, after a show in Sydney, another person posted on Reddit accusing an audience member of groping him while performing on the 2hollis stage.
