Westside Gunn has officially entered the sneaker industry, announcing that he will be dropping his first collaboration with Saucony.
The Griselda rapper took to Instagram on Wednesday (October 9) to share a series of photos from his collaboration with the popular sneaker company on a sneaker design.
In the final slide, Gunn includes a 2023 interview in which he names the Saucony as his favorite sneaker of the year, showing how much it really means to him.
“I’m proud to announce that I’m officially giving up my first pair of sneakers!!!” he wrote in the post. “This is a dream come true and I just want to thank you so much for believing in my art. Thank you @jaetips for opening doors and inspiring me. I keep pushing the culture forward…”
He concluded, “Thank you also to the staff for believing in my vision and treating me like I was treated like day one. I won’t be disappointed. Big things are happening. I just want you to know that God is the greatest and you all support this.” That’s what keeps me going, I’ll pit my 800,000 followers against someone else’s 10 million followers any day, love you guys, now let’s make some of the biggest leaps ever.

On the music front, Westside Gunn has announced the release date for his new album Still Praying .
Last week, the prolific Buffalo, New York, rapper took to Instagram to announce the album’s release date of November 1st and unveiled the project’s cover art, which features recently deceased professional wrestler Sid Eudy.
Gunn also commented on the upcoming album and how he expects it to usher in a new era for Griselda Records.
“This is for THE BIG DUMP, MICHELLE, GDAD, VIRGIL, CHINEGUN, SLY GREEN, KUTTER, SHOTS, BACON, BEHIND THE WALL and BUFFALO!!!!!,” he wrote, referencing his late family members , friends and collaborators. “I promise you all will witness the next chapter of this thing starting now!!!”
He added: “Still praying is the beginning of a new era for @griseldarecords and I promise you I will make sure you never forget this and just support the arts and watch how life changes for the better.
“FLYGOD is an amazing god and when everyone thinks I’m just chilling I’m actually curating the worst art (wrestling/fashion/music) I’ve ever made but now it’s time to show you what I am All the hard work. I’m going to show you why it will never be another WESTSIDE GUNN.
Westside Gunn has a number of other projects in the works, and the critically acclaimed MC seems to be on a creative kick lately.
In addition to his long-derided Michel Records label, he also announced in August that he would be releasing a new album titled Flygod Is An Awesome God III (Trilogy).
