Wendy Williams is once again at the center of a legal and medical storm as her attorney, Joe Tacopina, strongly rejected the leaked report, claiming she had been rediagnosed by frontal dementia and aphasia, calling the allegations “false” and working under strict custody.
Tacopina told TMZ that the supposed diagnosis is being weaponized by individuals who have “a vested interest in bringing Wendy into this excessive and restrictive custody.” ”
He challenged the legality of the leak, demanding proof and accountability.
“The key issues are these,” Tacopina said. “Where is the actual medical report supporting this leak? Doctors are willing to take a sworn and face my cross-examination so that the truth can be revealed?”
He made it clear that neither he nor Williams saw the so-called medical files, and the diagnosis was reportedly confirmed. Instead, he portrays the leak as a strategic move to demonstrate continued control over the lives and financial situation of previous talk show hosts.
Wendy Williams has been under court-appointed custody since 2022 and has previously objected to the claim to dementia.
She asked for new independent assessments to prove her psychological soundness and insisted on manipulating early assessments.
Earlier this week, people reported that a series of medical assessments, including brain scans and neuropsychological tests, extended Williams’ custody.
The documents reportedly reaffirmed her diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, which was first identified in 2023.
The court-appointed Guardian Sabrina Morrissey demanded custody at least until Tuesday (November 5, 2025).
