When an artist dies unexpectedly, it’s often bittersweet to see how their music is processed. Posthumous releases often feel a bit like taking advantage of a situation, but fans welcome new music regardless. That being said, Mac Miller’s career has been dealt with in a big way following his tragic passing.
The rapper’s estate released his Circles album in 2020, on his 28th birthday, and five years later, just days before his 33rd birthday, we’re back.
Balloonerism is an album that Mac produced in the mid-2010s but later scrapped. Tonight, fans will hear a version of it. The only other feature other than Delusional Thomas (Mac’s alter ego) is SZA.
