Doechii is taking over the hip-hop world one song and one performance at a time.
She’s back today with a new performance for NPR’s Tiny Desk concert. Backed by a full band, French horns and two background singers, as well as her DJ Miss Milan, Doechii certainly produced one of the best performances of the show so far.
After finishing editing her Grammy-nominated project ALLIGATOR BITES NEVER HEAL, she closed her set with “Black Girl Memoir,” from her debut album Oh The Places You’ll Go. Before performing, she shared, “I wrote this song specifically for black women. As a dark-skinned woman, I’m trying to internalize a very unique experience… It’s dedicated to all the beauty in the room.” of black women.
