Usher was honored with a 2024 NAACP Image Award and was awarded the President’s Award for his contributions to culture.
He accepted the award from NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson during the ceremony, which aired live on BET on Saturday (March 16). In his speech, Arthur thanked all the women in his life for their contributions.
“I’m so grateful for my entire family, I couldn’t have done this without them,” Arthur said. “They say that behind, beside or next to every strong man is an even stronger woman, and for that, I thank my mother and my beautiful wife, Jennifer, for keeping me strong. My children, I Love you very much.”

A-list stars including Busta Rhimes and Usher attended William Morris Endeavor’s massive pre-Oscars party in Los Angeles last week. The event was held at the Beverly Estate, also known as the “Godfather Mansion” for the famous scene in the 1972 film “The Godfather.”
According to TMZ, in addition to Busta Rhymes and Usher, John Legend, Teyana Taylor and Justin Timberlake were other superstars in attendance at the celebration.
In addition to the aforementioned musicians, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Rob Lowe were also on hand.

He continued, “First of all, when I saw him, I was like, ‘I grew up on your music, man. It’s an honor to meet you. He shook my hand, but he said, ‘ Dude, what the hell? Did you all have one before me?
“Like I said, he was probably joking. He’s a comedian, too. But I don’t think so, because I think people are going to say, ‘Congratulations.’ “But he didn’t say that.”
