Tyler, the Creator is entering a different phase of his career. He went from controversial host, to critical darling, to hip-hop icon. His recent performance on Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” solidified this. Taylor took inspiration from this iconic performance and brought it to his own music festival, Camp Flog Gnaw. The festival is approaching its tenth anniversary this year, which means the former Odd Future leader will be pulling out all the stops to make sure fans get their money’s worth.
Fittingly, Taylor announced the date for the 2024 Camp Flog Gnaw on June 24th. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, June 28, with advance ticket sales increasing a day earlier (June 27). Camp Flog Gnaw’s website confirms that general admission is $345, plus two days. VIP passes are $625 + fees and Super VIP passes are $1,695 + fees. The lineup for Camp Flog Gnaw 2024 has not yet been announced. Tyler the Creator’s official festival poster confirms the artist will be revealed at a later date.
Tyler Creator Festival to be held in November
Camp Flog Gnaw has had its fair share of iconic moments over the years. In 2014, Tyler The Creator had the opportunity to interview his idol, Pharrell, and the news went viral. There was also the infamous Drake show in 2018 where he was the surprise guest of Tyler The Creator, but fans who were expecting Frank Ocean booed 6 God in the audience. Taylor defended Drake and criticized fans. “When that happens, these assholes are like, ‘Fuck you,'” he told BET. “This is my reflection on Aubrey.” The irony, of course, is that Taylor has moved on to Team Kendrick Lamar.
Tyler The Creator is praised for bringing the festival back in 2023. “Didn’t leave towels, didn’t call us to see if we got home safe, just fucked us. But three or four years later, you guys still want to come.” Taylor also thanked fans for their support and keeping the festival alive. “Knowing that I had this random idea lifted the spirits of Los Angeles for two days,” he explains. “I say with all the bones in my body: Thank you everyone.”
