In 1996, Tupac Shakur was shot to death in a BMW driven by Suge Knight after his fight with Mike Tyson in Las Vegas, and the car is now for sale online for $1.75 million.

The listing shows the car is the same one Tupac was riding in when gunfire erupted on September 7, 1996, a night that changed music and culture forever.

Although viral headlines labeled it as the car in which Tupac was murdered, the facts haven’t changed. Tupac was shot and killed in his BMW, but he actually died in hospital seven days later. While the car’s brutal legacy continues to draw attention and attention, the distinction is important.

According to the listing, the vehicle was driven by Suge Knight and was originally leased by Death Row Records. The shooting occurred around 11:15 p.m. PT when the car stopped at a red light near East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane shortly after leaving the MGM Grand area. Tupac was reportedly shot by four .40-caliber bullets fired from a Glock pistol, a detail included in the vehicle history.

The seller claims this is the first time the BMW has been shown or sold publicly since Tupac’s death in 1996. Over the years, the car has undergone a comprehensive restoration designed to restore its pre-shooting appearance. The process included repainting and changing the wheels to match the original style from the night of the attack.

Still, the restoration didn’t completely erase history. The listing notes a slight exterior dent believed to correspond to the impact point of one of the bullets. Unless otherwise noted, it is described as subtle and easy to miss, but intentionally retained as a reminder of what happened.

The details inside the BMW are equally disturbing.

The seller says the inner door panel was carefully pulled back, revealing original weld marks that line up with where the bullet entered the vehicle. The markings are physical confirmation of the car’s role in one of hip-hop’s most infamous moments.

That includes documents verifying ownership and provenance, according to the listing. Although the BMW has had multiple owners since 1996, the most recent owner reportedly commissioned a restoration and it is currently on display.

The car is currently on display at the Celebrity Car Show in Las Vegas. Full description below.
