Trevor Noah will retire from the Grammys stage after hosting the ceremony for a sixth consecutive year, marking the end of what executive producer Ben Winston calls a “generational run.”

The South African comedian will host the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on February 1, 2026, but this will be his last time in the role that has defined music’s biggest night for the past six years.

Winston announced Noah’s departure in a statement, expressing both excitement and sadness about the decision.

“I’m so excited to welcome Trevor Noah to host the Grammy Awards for his sixth and final time,” Winston said. “He’s the best host on the show. He’s so smart, so funny, and he brought such a warm feeling to the evening.”

Noah’s hosting tenure, which begins in 2021, coincides with some of the most memorable Grammy moments in recent history. He has demonstrated an uncanny ability to navigate complex cultural conversations while maintaining the show’s celebratory atmosphere.

The comedian joins a select group of artists who have hosted the Grammy Awards multiple times. Andy Williams holds the record for hosting with seven, although he doesn’t have the same streak as Noah.

The comedian will also serve as executive producer of the 2026 awards show, along with Winston, Raj Kapoor and Jesse Collins. This dual role expands Noah’s influence over the show’s creative direction and production decisions.

In addition to his hosting duties, Noah is also participating in the 2026 Grammy Awards as a nominee. He received his fourth Grammy nomination for Best Audiobook, Narration and Storytelling Recording for the children’s book “Into The Uncut Grass.”

The Recording Academy has yet to announce performers for February’s awards show, but several major artists are expected to take the stage.

Kendrick Lamar leads this year’s nominations with nine, including Album of the Year for GNX and Record of the Year for SZA’s “Luther.”

Other major nominees include Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish.

Noah’s final Grammy hosting performance will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and the ceremony will air live on CBS beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
