After a tumultuous few months, Trae Tha Truth is starting the new year with joy as his blended family is whole again.
On Thursday (January 2), the Houston native posted a heartwarming video of her reunion with her six-year-old daughter True. Last month, Trey revealed he needed help finding his missing daughter, who he claimed was “kidnapped” by her mother after a visit more than four months ago.

While he didn’t elaborate on the specific circumstances surrounding his daughter’s return, he did share in the post’s caption how the high-stress situation gave him the opportunity to learn a huge lesson about the power of faith.
“Never let anyone tell you God isn’t real!!!!” Trey began with a lengthy message. “On the first day of 2025 I got a call that I couldn’t believe… (They said she had been found) and I knew God was the only reason I kept going when I wanted to give up…” I had to let go and believe Him, even though the past few months have been difficult and I have been completely broken and empty…I have learned to have faith…”
He continued, praising a higher power for allowing him to find a path to enlightenment throughout his ordeal. “Although I didn’t know where the truth was, I knew God was protecting her, so this was the beginning of my understanding of faith…” he wrote. “I have to let the world know that God is the only reason I am reunited with my twin and my heart! God puts the right people in the right places, God puts the right eyes where it can be seen, God puts it Come help God on the hearts of the people and God aligns everyone who prays and hears their cry!
Trey concluded by offering words of wisdom and encouragement to parents who may be going through similar situations.
“Thank God!!” he wrote. “For everyone who has been through a similar situation with a child, in my case, God can work miracles and shake the world! Don’t give up, just believe, pray and keep the faith! He told me no more days of sadness and depression , he told me to celebrate and smile so I will obey and make this year bigger and better than ever! #TruthIsBack đź’™ @iambabytruth”

Trey’s reunion with Truth ends a grueling saga that began on August 16 when a judge granted him full custody of the children in early 2024, with Trey leaving his daughter behind Houston’s “first visit” with her mother. Trae Tha Truth opened up about his custody battle in a 2022 interview with AllHipHop.
“It’s a process,” the rap philanthropist shared. “I was just tired of trying to be a real dad,” he said, explaining that he was frustrated by “stressful situations.” He added, “I should be promoting music, but it overwhelms everything.”
