Tink opened up about her split from Hitmaka and how difficult it was to continue their working relationship after their personal relationship ended.
The two broke up in 2023 after the singer accused the producer of getting physical with her – something the producer denied when he made his own accusations against the singer.
However, a few months later, they seemed to reconcile, as they both promoted her new music.
During an visit to The Breakfast Club this week, she revealed that she was contractually obligated to make an album with her ex, so they were forced to work together regardless of the circumstances.
“I had to take the emotion out of it,” she said. “And we’ve signed a contract, so we’re obligated. Things have already started.
“This process is different for me,” she continued. “It took me a long time to get in that booth and get us to agree on these songs. We had tough days and he had to leave and that’s what it is. I needed some time to collect my thoughts. [It was like,] “I can’t look at you today, I can’t be around you and hear what you want to say right now.”
However, they were eventually completed – and many of the artworks reflected real-life situations.
“We’ve been through a lot of chaos,” she concluded. “So there’s a lot of him on a lot of records. He knows that, and we made this album together.
Tink described their initial breakup at the time:
“I had a period in that car where I had to do physical exercises,” Tinker said. “Don’t play with me, please, don’t play online because I have to protect myself. Christian, when you see this shit, you know you’re foul. That’s all I need you to know.
On the same day, Hitmaka said on his Instagram Stories that he “stands true” and refuses to accept Tink’s accusations against him.
What’s more, the producer hinted that he will take the accusations to a lawyer and possibly pursue legal charges against the “lower” rapper: “She’s got to pay. I have no idea what that girl is talking about.”
However, both sides appear to have arrived at better circumstances.
