Tinashe releases her new album Quantum Baby today, which features her hit song “Nasty.”
The project marks her seventh studio album and the second in a three-part trilogy. The singer said the title refers to quantum physics, as she hopes fans will be able to access her personal universe and rediscover her at her “deepest, most essential core level.”
“I’ve been really lucky since leaving my major label and going independent and being able to focus on what I want to do creatively. I’ve really honed that process over the past three albums,” the songstress said. told The Associated Press. “The second part of the trilogy is really focused on getting to know me on a deeper level.”
The album was produced by Nosaj Thing, Ricky Reed and sdtroy, with every song written by Tinashe.
“At this point in my life, all I want most is good experiences and peace of mind,” she said. “I’m done trying to force or create anything.”
