Vince Staples’ semi-autobiographical comedy series returns for a second season on November 6, bringing more chaos and charm to Netflix with a darker tone and a fresh trailer to match.

The streaming platform confirmed the premiere date earlier this week and previewed a new chapter of “The Vince Staples Show” that explores grief, identity and the lingering weight of past mistakes.

Set in Long Beach, where Staples grew up, the show uses absurdist humor and poignant storytelling to reflect the rapper’s real-life experiences.

Season 2 follows Vince’s chaotic search for peace after a devastating loss. But as he tries to move forward, the past keeps pulling him back into old patterns.

The series was created by Staples, Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams.

Returning cast members include Vanessa Bell Calloway and Nate Jones, with comedian Zach Fox joining the cast as a guest star this season.

Staples, who rose to prominence in the hip-hop scene with albums such as “Summertime ’06,” “Big Fish Theory” and “FM!,” has long spoken about the violence and trauma he witnessed while growing up in Long Beach.

He once described summers in Ramona Park as “white heat,” and he lost several friends to street violence before he was old enough to drive.

That honesty has carried over into his performances. The Vince Staples Show premiered in February 2024 and quickly attracted attention for its combination of surreal comedy and social commentary.

Netflix dropped a trailer alongside the release date, offering a glimpse into the more intense tone.

While still full of Staples’ dry humor, the upcoming season hints at heavier themes and personal reckonings.

The second season of “The Vince Staples Show” will premiere on Netflix on November 6.
