Antoine Massey was arrested in New Orleans Friday after running for nearly six weeks, a serious security failure in the city’s main prison.
Louisiana State Police and the U.S. Marshal found Messi at a residence about two miles from the Orleans Justice Center, who and nine others escaped on May 16.
Antoine Massey is one of two prisoners that the group is still missing. Another eight have been recaptured – most of them within the city limits, two in Texas. Only Derrick Groves, who was convicted of second-degree murder, still has not been sentenced.
During his run, Massey posted a video on Instagram claiming that he was innocent but did not escape but was “released”. In the video, he begged for help from Meek Mill, Lil Wayne, NBA Youngboy and even Donald Trump.
Messi said: “I’m going to seek help from the world from Meek Mill, Lil Wayne and Donald Trump. Donald Trump. I can’t even find a lawyer. I can’t even afford a lawyer to prove my innocence. I didn’t explode.
Antoine Massey, who was detained for domestic abuse for blackmail and auto-theft charges, also said in the video: “I won’t lie, I’m causing problems. I’m that person, I’m not that person. I have a 3-year-old son. I have an 18-year-old daughter who graduates.
Escape occurs when prisoners force open faulty battery doors, remove the toilet so they break through the walls, and zoom the perimeter fence. The violations were not ignored for more than seven hours, raising questions about staffing and supervision in the prison.
Investigators have arrested at least 13 people accused of helping prisoners escape, including prison employees and external accomplices. A maintenance worker was accused of assisting with removing the toilet, which helped facilitate escape.
Massey’s public attraction to Meek Mill is not random. The rapper co-founded a reform alliance with Jay-Z and others in 2019 to drive changes in parole and probation laws.
