The Marizele sisters turn the quiet Catholic TV show into a viral hip-hop moment when they put down their rhythms, while her New York sister Marisa de Paula dances next to Brazil’s Pai Eterno Channel.
The improvisation aired in late May, with two Copiosa Redenção Nuns and TV host Deacon Giovani Bastos in a part of the career retreat.
The initial discussions about faith and youth propaganda quickly transformed into musical displays, blending beats, singing and dancing. There is no plan at this moment. Marizele often uses music in her ministry, starting an intermediary exchange.
The Marisa sisters who love dancing participated in the competition without hesitation. Deacon Bastos follows their lead, and the three’s chemistry ignites the screen.
The clip has been all the rage on social media, amassing millions of views and has received praise for the innovative ways in which nuns connect with young people.
However, their goal is beyond entertainment. The sisters use music as a tool for young people who are addicted to drug addicts and encourage religious careers.
“We use music to attract hearts who may not be willing to accept traditional preaching,” the Marizel sisters said in a last interview.
Their congregation, Copiosa Redenção, focused on helping people overcome substance abuse and find their purpose through faith.
The sisters say music helps break down barriers and build trust with those who are alienated by traditional religious information.
