Tha God Fahim is still pouring out his 24th LP. Starting out as an affiliate of Griselda Records and becoming 1/3 of the Dump Gawds along with Mach-Hommy & Your Old Droog, we can’t ignore the vast amount of records he has made for himself, some of his standouts include Breaking Through the Van Allen Belt and Dumping Assassins. But this guy put out a crazy EP in 2023, the standouts being Dark Shogunn Assassin produced by Camoflauge Monk, Iron Bull backed by Nature Sounds and Nicholas Craven produced Dump Gawd: Shot Clock King series, Oh No- Berserko Produced, Fahim’s last EP Dump Gawd: Rhyme Pays was produced by Mike Shabb, Tha Supreme Hoarder of All Pristine Wealth produced, Supreme Dump Legend: Soul Cook Saga produced by Cookin’ Soul, and most recently Machine Gun Vocabulary produced by Cartune Beatz . However, more than 5 years have passed since “The Myth of Never Give Up” and we are now finally getting a sequel.
The title track sets the tone for the boom bap music and lyrics to come while keeping the muhfuckas in the background, while “Aspirations” adopts a calmer pace, explaining that the game never changes and that with his The experience remains the same. “Make Way” takes the soulful boom Bap route and showcases his genius in musical arrangements, while “Scholar” continues to talk about his legendary status with soul music samples.
“Out of Options” boasts that he’s at his artistic peak in another sonic flip, while “Return to Fire” strips away the drums entirely, warning that if anyone shoots him, he’ll send them back. “Max Ammo” is back in the heat, talking about reloading, while “Poison Arrows” calls out affectionately to the people who got shit from fans when his manuscript dropped.
“If You Don’t Use It, Lose It” gets an encore from “Tha Myth Who Never Quit 2,” which clarifies on symphonic, dusty notes that you can only succeed or else you’ll end up in the intoxicating The rich “Figure It Out” was previously wasted on his part. “Tha Choice is Yours” closes the album with another drumless track bouncing over bare woodwinds, telling the audience that you can choose who you want to be in life.
Less than two weeks after Machine Gun Vocabulary dropped from shelves, Fahim & Craven are back with a follow-up to Tha Myth Who Never Quit that surpasses the LP we got from the guys earlier this month. Nicholas Craven’s sample-heavy set retains the booming rhythms from the previous album with a hint of drums-free feel, while Breadrick Douglas lyrically keeps any guests from joining in He, worked harder than he did in Supreme Dump Legend: Soul Cook Saga.
