TeeFlii and Mustard were inseparable throughout the 2010s. The two Los Angeles artists emerged at the same time and collaborated on several songs. However, things changed in 2022, and former friends turned into enemies. They had kept their distance for the past few years, but on the night of July 16, the pendulum swung back.
The entire exchange stems from Mustard’s new single “Pray for Me.” The iconic producer actually spat out a verse on the song and talked about his feud with TeeFlii in the process. “I shouldn’t be arguing on set, I should be praying with TeeFlii,” he raps. “I could have got to the point instead of joking.” The regret is obvious, and TeeFlii apparently noticed it. After the song was released, the singer took to Twitter to return the positive energy. “I forgive you brother @mustard,” he wrote. “I know I don’t mind praying with you or for you.” The singer later apologized for her role in the 2022 feud. “I’m sorry to go online and raise our issues,” he added. “I didn’t stop to think about the kids in our family, so as a brother, it’s my fault.”
TeeFlii responds to Mustard’s heartfelt new single
The incidents mentioned by Mustard and TeeFlii both occurred on Instagram Live. The two artists got into a heated argument over the credit they each deserved. TeeFlii claims their collaborative single “24 Hours” is Mustard’s first platinum medal. By the time the 2014 single was released, Mustard, already an established hitmaker, became frustrated. He felt that TeeFlii was trying to take credit for what he had created. “Are you high, nigga?! You do know ‘Rack City’ came out before I met you, right,” he asserted. “You are not the reason for my success.”
If there was ever a year when TeeFlii and Mustard could get back on their old ways, it would be 2024. . Mustard scored his first No. 1 single by producing Drake’s diss “Not Like Us.” At the same time, the “Pop Up” program has been regarded as an iconic moment in hip-hop history. Hopefully the two artists becoming friends again means we’ll be hearing more TeeFlii and Mustard music in the future.
