Tee Grizzley’s ‘Post Traumatic’ Is His Most Ambitious Album Yet

As an artist, Tee Grizzley is deceptive. For a rapper who broke through with a powerful voice, he’s proven he can drop everything from lyrical wonder to sticky R&B melodies. His last few albums were concise in tracklisting but also limited in scope. On the other hand, post-traumatic conditions are spreading. At 24 tracks, the album is Tee Grizzley’s longest album to date and an ideal showcase for all of his different sounds and styles to be convincingly presented.

“After Trauma” starts off with some acting, but “Tit for Tat” has a lot of momentum. Starting with the third song, Tee Grizzley delivers sample-based pop rap on “All I Wanna Do.” He turns around and embraces hard trap tropes on the hooky “More Than Half.” Need more? How about a sexy R&B duet with Tink on “Ride or Die”? Post Trauma continues to change styles and featured artists while maintaining cohesion and aesthetic consistency. It’s an impressive balance. Tee Grizzley was as good opposite Future in the off-kilter “Swear to God” as he was opposite scientist Mariah in “Situationship.” The length of Post Traumatic can be daunting, but even on shuffle, these disparate sounds blend into a great listening experience.

Let us know what you think of this brand new album in the comments section below. Also, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from the music industry. We will continue to update you on all your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.
