Does SZA really want to leave the music industry and become a farmer?
Fans are grappling with this question after the Grammy-winning R&B artist revealed her unconventional plans for the future.
SZA shared her vision on social media, saying she hopes to fulfill the promise of her final two albums by creating “peaceful music for children” before exiting the spotlight entirely.
“For the sake of my last two albums, I thought I was just going to make peaceful children’s music and get out of here. Then go be a farmer and donate produce to underserved communities,” SZA said.

SZA may be serious, as her comments come after she confirmed her split from Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) president and her long-time manager Terrence “Punch” Henderson.
The pair’s 12-year collaboration, which earned SZA international acclaim on projects like *Ctrl* and *SOS*, officially ended with what she calls “the end of an era.”
“Nothing to celebrate. End of an era,” she wrote in a candid message to fans, emphasizing the mutual respect between her and Punch. “I love Punch dearly! No one should be aggressive or cruel on my behalf. Sometimes people grow distant and that’s okay.
While the breakup appears to be amicable, fans have speculated about the underlying reasons. Some have pointed to the delay in the release of SOS Deluxe: LANA, which reportedly caused friction behind the scenes.
The move could also be a natural evolution for SZA to forge her own path, much like her former TDE label mate Kendrick Lamar, who left the label in 2022 to focus on his own label, pgLang.
