SZA offers unfiltered thoughts on her Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery experience in a new interview.
In an interview with British Vogue , SZA said that while she was initially “so angry” that she had the popular Brazilian butt lift, she is actually now “enjoying” it. Explaining that her fitness journey led to her decision to opt for surgery in early 2022, the “Snooze” singer revealed that she initially experienced some complications, including weight gain, before getting her BBL back.
“I’m angry that I did that,” SZA said. “I gained all the weight by staying still during recovery and trying to conserve fat. It was so stupid. But who gives af##k. You get BBL and you realize you don’t need that stuff. It doesn’t matter.
SZA spoke about how she feels about her decision-making, seemingly alluding to her plans to have additional plastic surgery if her heart desires it, since death is fleeting — literally.
“If I wanted to, I would do more things like this before I die because this body is temporary,” she said.
However, she noted that the surgery was more of a “want” than a “need,” explaining that she had “work” to get done in other areas.
“It’s not really necessary,” she said. “I have other things I need to work on about myself. I need to keep my damn mental health… It’s not that you can’t do those things at the same time, it’s just that for me, I realized that no matter where you go, you’re going to There.

She admits, “My booty looks good. I’m grateful that it looks… I don’t know, natural sometimes. But I just don’t care. It’s something I want. I enjoy it. I love shaking it.”
This isn’t the first time SZA has opened up about her decision to undergo BBL surgery. In a 2023 interview with ELLE, the TDE singer compared her sexy assets to accessories such as wallets.
“I use my butt as a purse; it just enhances everything else,” she told the outlet. “That’s why I paid for it, because it works on its own.”
She added, “I’ve always wanted a really fat a##, but less time to work out. I didn’t give in to industry pressure. I gave in to my own eyes in the mirror and said, ‘No, I need more a##. .
