SZA and manager Punch have officially parted ways.
After posting several messages on Twitter, the superstar singer confirmed that she has split from her longtime manager Terrence Henderson of Top Dawg Entertainment’s (TDE) Punch. “Nothing to celebrate. End of an era. I wish him all the best.
SZA and Punch’s relationship has long been rocky, with the singer taking to social media multiple times to express her frustration with her management, even claiming in 2020 that she was in a “hostile” relationship with Punch and TDE.
While confirming the breakup on Wednesday night, SZA asked fans to keep it light on Punch.
Punch has previously commented on fans’ claims that he is ruining SZA’s career. “It’s amazing to see the mob mentality in real time,” he wrote when SOS launched last year. “Absolute lies and misinformation can snowball into what the public believes to be the truth.”
He continued, “I laugh and play a lot because I know a lot of times people need a face to blame. He’s a bad guy, if you will, haha. I’d rather it be me. I’d rather take the hit.
SZA released a deluxe version of SOS last week called Lana.
