Stevie J reveals Sean “Diddy” Combs’ reaction to footage of him brutally beating ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, Claims the embattled tycoon was forced to relive “the darkest moments of his life”.
In TMZ’s “The Downfall of Diddy” documentary, the longtime “Bad Boys” producer admitted that he was shocked and hurt after seeing the disturbing video of his friend attacking Ventura.
Stevie J said he visited Diddy in Miami shortly after the footage surfaced and had a candid discussion. He claimed Didi was “broken” because his female relatives witnessed his horrific behavior.
“It was a really exciting time,” he explains. “He was hurt when that video came out, it broke him because he was like, ‘Yo, my daughter and my mom have to see this.
The producer added, “I was like, ‘Yeah, your friends should watch it too.'”
Stevie J claims Diddy is ‘in a dark place’
According to Stevie J, Diddy was as hurtful by the release of the film as he was by his own actions.
“What he did in the video, he couldn’t believe it was the darkest moment of his life,” he added. He had to relive that experience with his ex-girlfriend of ten years and see it again. Who wants to see themselves beating a girl on film? I think it hurts all of us, anybody.
Stevie J responded to Diddy’s apology following the video’s release, saying “he’s in a dark place in his life.”
He also claimed that Diddy “just did a lot of drugs and it was dark for him.”
“He was doing a lot of drugs.”
After the hotel video of Diddy beating Cassie emerged, Stevie J shared details of a private conversation he had with Diddy and said he told Diddy he was hurt when he saw the footage.

Bad Boy Entertainment addressed the distressing footage days after it was released.
“I was so high – I hit rock bottom – but I have no excuses,” he says in the video. “My actions in that video are inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.
Didi has been in jail since her arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation for prostitution. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.
